Corporate Communication and Public Relations
The book's projects
Do a real-world project well.
The book's appendix offers eight projects. You may take up any one, and it will be evaluated.
- Project 1: study a local traditional occupation through interviews: its origin, process, costs, earnings, problems, government schemes, gender roles and entrepreneurship.
- Project 2: document a public campaign, from the side of both the organisers and the target group.
- Project 3: study a community nutrition or health programme, such as ICDS or the Mid-day Meal.
- Projects 4 and 5: explore how people see those with special needs, and profile one person, using careful, ethical interviews that avoid labelling.
- Project 6: plan, run and evaluate a school event (invitations, budget, programme, feedback).
- Project 7: plan nutrition and health messages for a target group, using posters, flipbooks, puppets or skits.
- Project 8: survey processed foods, their packaging and labels (dates, weight, certification marks, nutrition information).
A good project needs: a plan; an interview schedule (a list of questions); respectful conduct; careful records; and a report or presentation.
Each project uses ideas from the chapters: careers, campaigns, nutrition, consumer marks and communication skills. Plan, ask, record, reflect, present.
Plan, ask, record, reflect, present.
