Number sequences

Fill the blanks in number patterns.

Your book, Maths Mela (Chapter 10), has some number patterns with blanks to fill. To continue a pattern, first find the step: how much does each number go up by?

On a row of trees the numbers start 2540, 2590. From 2540 to 2590 is 50 more. So we keep adding 50: 2540, 2590, 2640, 2690, 2740 …

Another pattern starts 354, 1354. The thousands digit went up by 1, and the rest stayed the same. So the step is 1000: 354, 1354, 2354, 3354, 4354 …

A kangaroo jumps along a number line: 7645, 7670, then two blanks, then 7745. From 7645 to 7670 is 25 more. Keep adding 25: 7695, 7720, and then 7745, which matches the book! After that come 7770, 7795 and 7820.

To continue a number pattern, find the step between two numbers next to each other, then keep adding the same step.
