On page 25 of your book, Poorvi, you match six words from 'Rama to the Rescue' with their meanings. Here they are.

Wonder is a feeling of surprise. A yard is an area outside a building, like the open space in front of a house where children play: the couple say that if the boy is in the yard, they will call him a little louder.

Chatter is talking for a long time about things that are not important. When the couple stop calling, the thief is glad that their chatter has stopped at last.

Instead means in place of someone or something. The thief wishes the couple would stop their silly game and talk about their money instead.

Closely means carefully: the thief decides he had better listen closely. Perhaps means maybe: the thief thinks that perhaps they are talking about their money.

Most of these words belong to the thief. He listens closely, guesses 'perhaps', wishes they would talk about money instead, and is glad when the chatter stops. Each word shows how little he understands what is going on.

The thief's own words show him being fooled — he thinks the chatter is harmless.
