Friendship
Neither...nor, either...or
Learn how to use the word pairs neither and nor, and either and or.
In 'The Unlikely Best Friends', when Buntee was taken away, neither the farmer nor the mahout noticed that the two friends had tears in their eyes. That means the farmer did not notice, AND the mahout did not notice either. Your book, Poorvi, looks at these little words on page 49.
Neither ... nor joins two negative choices: it says 'not this one, and not that one'. Your book's example: Neither Rohit nor I want to play football. So Rohit does not want to play football, and I do not want to play football. Another: Neither Shikha nor Anuj likes to tell stories.
EITHER ... OR is used when you choose between two things. Your book's example: Rohit wants to play either cricket or kho-kho. It means he wants to play cricket, or he wants to play kho-kho, one of the two. Another: Either Bhavesh or Abha made this painting: one of them made it.
Remember the pairs: 'neither' always goes with 'nor', and 'either' always goes with 'or'.
