Our School — A Happy Place

Kind at school

Think about how to be kind to others at school.

In your book, Our Wondrous World (Chapter 4), we learn that the way we behave with others, at school, at home or in public places, matters a lot. Our behaviour can make a place peaceful and welcoming, or uncomfortable and unpleasant.

Your book gives some everyday situations to think about. Two students push ahead and skip the line at the water tap while others wait. A student scribbles on a classroom bench with a marker. Someone throws a wrapper in the playground, and a younger student copies them. One student keeps teasing another. A group makes noise in a park and disturbs people doing yoga nearby.

None of these is kind or respectful. The way we behave shows the kind of person we are. We show respect and kindness by waiting for our turn, using kind words, helping someone, and keeping our places clean.

When we are kind and polite, everyone feels happy.

We show respect and kindness by waiting for our turn, using kind words, helping others, not disturbing or teasing anyone, and keeping our school and public places clean.
