Feeling blessed
Think about what it means to feel blessed to have good friends.
In the poem 'A Friend's Prayer', the speaker says that she feels blessed to have special friends. On page 55 your book, Poorvi, asks you what 'blessed' means.
To feel blessed is to feel GRATEFUL or THANKFUL: you know that something good has come into your life, and you are glad and thankful for it. The speaker is thankful for her special friends.
Your book gives five words to choose from: excited, grateful, understood, thankful and relaxed. Only two are close to 'blessed': grateful and thankful. 'Excited' means full of eager energy, and 'relaxed' means calm and resting. You can feel those too, but they do not mean blessed.
So when Mario, in 'The Chair', finds three true friends in Guneet, Asma and Deepa, he could say, 'I feel blessed to have friends like you.'
