Together We Can
Where is it on the map?
Learn small words that tell where something is, like behind and between.
Some small words tell us WHERE something is: behind, between, near and in front of. On page 5 of your book, Santoor, there is a map of a small town. It has a hospital, a bank, a post office, a school, a bookstore and a children's park, with roads between them.
'Near' means close to something. On the map, the bookstore is near the Children's Park: they are close to each other.
'Behind' means at the back of something. Your book says the bank is behind the school.
'In front of' is the opposite of 'behind'. In a queue, the person in front of you goes before you, and the person behind you comes after you.
'Between' means in the middle of two things, with one on each side. On the map, there is an ambulance on the road between the post office and the hospital: the post office is on one side of it and the hospital on the other.
