The Tinkling Bells

Story order

Put the events of the story in the right order.

On page 18 of your book, Santoor, you number six events from the story 'The Tinkling Bells' in the order they happened. Here they are, in that order.

First, Chinna wanted to buy tinkling bells for his pet, Tara, at Chacha's shop. Second, he found that his money was missing, and he felt sad. Third, at home, he hugged his mother and told her about the missing money. Fourth, he went to the market with his mother. Fifth, he returned the extra money to the fruit seller. Sixth, and last, he bought the tinkling bells with money his mother gave him.

Words like first, next, then, after that and at last help us tell a story in order.

To check an order, ask: could this happen before that? Chinna could not return the extra money before he went to the market, because he got that money at the market!

In the story, Chinna wants the bells, finds his money missing, tells his mother, goes to the market, returns the extra money, and at last buys the bells, in that order.
