Double letters

Some words have the same letter two times, one right after the other. We call this a double letter.

On page 71 of your book, Santoor, the example is 'village'. Village has 'll' in it: v-i-l-l-a-g-e. Your book also shows a pet parrot. Parrot has 'rr': p-a-r-r-o-t. The colour green has 'ee': g-r-e-e-n.

Your book then asks you to find five things in your kitchen with double letters. Here are some: spoon (oo), kettle (tt), apple (pp), coffee (ff and ee), butter (tt).

When you spell a word with a double letter, say it slowly and remember to write the letter two times.
