A crossword of opposites

Solve a crossword puzzle of opposite words.

On pages 6 and 7 of your book, Santoor, there is a crossword puzzle. Every clue asks for an opposite: a word that means the other way round. Hot and cold are opposites. Big and small are opposites.

Here are the crossword's opposites. Far and nearby. No and yes. Small and big. Sad and happy. Slow and fast. Dirty and clean. Hot and cold. Bought and sold. Inside and outside. Bright and dark.

In a crossword, the number of boxes helps you. The clue 'Not far' has six boxes, so the answer is not 'near' (four letters) but 'nearby' (six letters: n-e-a-r-b-y).

Some clues are little sentences. 'I said no but he said ...' needs 'yes'. 'Don't be sad, be ...' needs 'happy'. 'Not bought, but ...' needs 'sold'.

An opposite means the other way round: far and nearby, slow and fast, bought and sold, bright and dark.
