Riddles about public places

Solve riddles about public places.

Your book, Our Wondrous World (Chapter 1), has four riddles about public places. A riddle gives you clues, and you guess the answer.

The first riddle is about a place where people wait so that they are not late. Buses come and go from here to many places. That place is a bus stand.

The second riddle is about a place that keeps letters from near and far, with stamps and parcels waiting. You can write a note and post it there. That place is a post office.

The third riddle is about a busy place full of colours, lights and the sound of feet, where people shop and meet, and fruits, vegetables and other goods are sold. That place is a market. The fourth riddle is about a place where you run and play, with swings and slides and lots of laughter. That place is a playground, or a park.

Clues about what people do in a place help us name it: waiting for buses means a bus stand; letters and parcels, a post office; shopping, a market; swings and slides, a playground.
