Nature Trail

Nature trail rules

Learn the rules for a nature trail.

In your book, Our Wondrous World (Chapter 3), some students go with their teacher on a nature trail at Pachmarhi, in Madhya Pradesh. At the forest entrance they meet Abha Didi, a nature scientist who studies plants and animals. She will guide them through the forest.

The students hope to see monkeys, deer, snakes, eagles and tigers. But Abha Didi reminds them that they must not harm the plants and animals in the forest.

These are the rules to follow on a nature trail, in a forest or in a zoo. Be careful in a new place. Do not tease the animals, and do not feed them. Do not damage trees and flowers. Do not bring pets, firearms or any kind of weapon. Do not bring polythene bags. Do not damage public utilities, the things put there for everyone to use, like benches and signboards. And do not throw any garbage in the forest.

These rules keep us safe, and they keep the plants and animals safe too.

On a nature trail, in a forest or in a zoo, we are careful, and we never tease, feed or harm the animals, plants and places around us.
