Food for Health

Junk food

Find out why junk food is not good for us if we eat too much.

Some foods are not healthy if we eat them regularly or in large amounts. They have a lot of oil, salt and sugar. These foods are called junk food.

Your book, Our Wondrous World (Chapter 5), gives some examples of junk food: soft drinks, chips, bread pakoda, burgers, pizza, and over-processed packaged food.

Fresh home-cooked food is better for us than over-processed or packaged food. So, instead of chips and a soft drink, we can choose fresh fruit, a home-made roti with dal, or a glass of water.

Junk food has a lot of oil, salt and sugar and is not healthy when eaten regularly or in large amounts, so we choose fresh home-cooked food instead.
