Using paper wisely

Now you know how to make recycled paper. Your book, Our Wondrous World (Chapter 8), says that the paper in your books looks different, because it is made from wood pulp: wood from trees, mashed up with water.

A large number of trees are cut to make this paper. The steps are a lot like the steps for making recycled paper. But making paper needs many trees, and a lot of water and energy too. That is a lot of effort for every sheet!

So it is important to use paper, and other materials, responsibly. That means using them only when we need them. For example, we can write on both sides of a page instead of tearing out a fresh one.
