Our Vibrant Country
National animal and bird
Solve two riddles to find our national animal and bird.
In your book, Our Wondrous World (Chapter 5), there are two riddles to help you guess two national symbols of India.
The first riddle is about an animal that wears orange with bold black stripes. It walks in the deep, old forest, and it rules the land with a mighty roar. It is strong and grand. This is the tiger, the national animal of India.
The second riddle is about a bird that dances in the rain in the morning light. It has bright green and blue feathers and a crown on its head, and it is a joy to watch when it moves its tail. This is the peacock, the national bird of India.
Our national symbols remind us of who we are and make us proud to be citizens of India.
