Our Vibrant Country
Many kinds make us strong
Think about how many different kinds of people make our country strong.
In your book, Our Wondrous World (Chapter 5), you are asked to think of a garden and a forest.
Many gardens have only a few kinds of plants. A garden needs someone to care for it and water it all the time.
A forest has many, many kinds of plants, trees, animals, birds and insects. We say a forest is more diverse — it has more variety. The amazing thing is that all these different living things help the forest to look after itself, and they make it stronger and more beautiful.
India is like the forest. It has many languages, religions, kinds of clothing and traditions. Your book says they are like many threads woven together into one strong, colourful fabric. Just as in a forest, this diversity makes our country stronger.
