Fit Body, Fit Mind, Fit Nation
Quality words
Find the words in the poem that describe good qualities.
In the poem 'Fit Body, Fit Mind, Fit Nation' (your book, Santoor, pages 67 and 68), every child has a describing word in front of the name. Listen to the first sounds: active Anant, graceful Geeta, little Lhamo, swift Shabana, musical Meena.
Did you notice? The quality word and the name begin with the same letter. Active and Anant both begin with 'a'. Graceful and Geeta both begin with 'g'. Swift and Shabana both begin with 's'. Musical and Meena both begin with 'm'.
Each word also tells us something true about the child. Active Anant plays hockey. Graceful Geeta skates. Swift means very fast, and Shabana wins a cycle race. Musical Meena sings in rhythm.
On page 69, your book asks you to do the same for yourself. Think of a good quality that begins with the first letter of your name. If your name begins with 'k', you could be kind. If it begins with 'h', you could be helpful.
