Rhyming words
Find the rhyming words in the poem.
Rhyming words end with the same sound, like cat and hat. Say them aloud to hear it.
The poem 'Fit Body, Fit Mind, Fit Nation' is on pages 67 and 68 of your book, Santoor. Read it again and listen for the rhymes at the ends of the lines.
On page 72, your book asks you to find the word in the poem that rhymes with each of five words. Here are the answers. Hockey rhymes with rocky. Skates rhymes with mistakes. Guitar rhymes with sitar. Race rhymes with pace. Joy rhymes with boy.
Say each pair aloud: hock-ey, rock-y; sk-ates, mist-akes; guit-ar, sit-ar; r-ace, p-ace; j-oy, b-oy. The ends sound the same.
