Find the mistake

Find and fix the mistake in each sentence.

On pages 109 and 110 of your book, Santoor, each sentence has one mistake. You find it and write the sentence correctly. The book does the first one for you: 'I has recently read a new book' becomes 'I have recently read a new book', because with 'I' we use 'have', not 'has'.

Some mistakes are about the verb matching the person. One person takes 'is' and 'goes'; more than one take 'are' and 'go'. So: My mother is cooking. He goes to school every day. The birds are flying.

Some mistakes are about comparing. For two, we add -er and use 'than': The fox ran faster than the others. Radhika is taller than Suman. For the top one of a whole group, we add -est: Sudhanshu ran fastest of all the runners.

Other mistakes: we go TO school, so 'The speaker goes to school at ten in the morning.' A word that tells HOW we do something often ends in -ly: The old elephant walked slowly to the river. And for something that was going on when something else happened, we say 'was sleeping': Mita was sleeping when the doorbell rang.

Check that the verb matches the person (mother is, birds are, he goes), use -er than for two and -est for the top of a group, and use -ly to tell how something is done.
